Hours ago, Bebe Rexha filed a complaint against Lufthansa airline on her Instagram Stories, saying she was “threatened” and discriminated against at a German airport.
Sharing an emotional video, the American singer-songwriter cried and said: “Lufthansa supervisor is threatening me.”
Rexha elaborated in a statement on her profile: “@lufthansa I was threatened because I thought the security agent was Albanian. I spoke to him in Albanian and asked where I could get my ticket and now he’s banning me from flying.”
In a follow-up post, she said: “I think this is a hate crime because I’m Albanian. He didn’t tell me his name. He continued to mentally harass me to make me think he’s more powerful than he is. None of the women from @lufthansa intervened or said anything. He didn’t tell me his name. But I found out he works for ATSG, a document control service company employed by Lufthansa.”

The singer’s mother, Buki Rexha, also expressed her fears on social media, urging the airline company to “please make sure @beberexha gets home safely.” She also left a message for Munich Airport on her Instagram Story: “@munich_airport please investigate the male officer who threatened a woman @beberexha for speaking Albanian and pulled out his cameras.”
The incident is reported to have taken place at Munich International Airport. However, Bebe, born in Brooklyn, New York, is fluent in the Albanian language, as her father was born in Debar, North Macedonia – a country where people speak Albanian as well as Macedonian. Additionally, her mother is of Albanian descent despite being born in the US. Grammy.com further states that Bebe was born as Bleta Rexha – Bleta means “bumblebee” in Albanian.
Her latest heartbreaking revelation comes just days after she debuted the music video for her new track, “I Am the Drama,” on Thursday, August 15.
What did Lufthansa say about the ‘hate crime’ against Bebe Rexha at Munich airport?
Giving an update on the situation, a Lufthansa spokesperson told TMZ that they are in touch with the singer to find out what exactly happened. He further explained that the airline values diversity and equal opportunity above all else as they connect people from all over the world.
The outlet added that the airline will not tolerate the incident as it does not tolerate any kind of discriminatory behavior. They are reportedly investigating the matter.

News of Rexha’s Munich airport incident comes a month after she said she was “fed up” with the music industry. Expressing her frustration, Bebe revealed that she could “bring down a huge part of this industry” with her insight into the world of showbiz. However, she did not reveal the information she had up her sleeve.
She also posted several emotional tweets about her ex. One of the posts read, “I have been underestimated. I have been very quiet for a very long time. I have not seen the signs even though people are constantly pointing them out and they are so obvious.”
She further added, “And when I spoke up I was silenced and punished by this industry. Things must change or I will reveal my truth. The good, the bad and the ugly.”
Rexha rose to fame in 2013 with her songwriting credits on Eminem’s single “The Monster.” Over the years, she has not only created a discography for herself but has also helped expand the musical catalogs of others, including Selena Gomez, Iggy Azalea, Tate McRae, and Nick Jonas.
