Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have decided not to rekindle their relationship, and have no immediate plans to get back together. Despite recent challenges, insiders suggest a full-blown separation is unlikely. The couple recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary separately, sparking speculation about the state of their marriage.
Affleck was absent from Lopez’s Bridgerton-themed birthday party in the Hamptons, where he celebrated his 55th birthday without Lopez. Sources told People Affleck, 51, was unable to attend the event, where many guests, including Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, wore regalia.
Lopez and Affleck, who rekindled their romance and married in 2022, have been living apart for over a year. Affleck has been living in a rented house in Brentwood, while Lopez has spent much of her time vacationing. Despite the physical distance, the insider says, “They have no plans right now to announce that they are no longer a couple.”
Over the summer, Lopez has been on the East Coast, recently returning from a trip to Europe without Affleck. On their anniversary, Lopez was spotted biking in the Hamptons while Affleck was photographed in Los Angeles.
Their separation has extended to public events, with Affleck missing the Met Gala and the premiere of Lopez’s film Atlas. They have since finished filming, however Accountant 2He remains in California, where he spent the July 4 holiday.
Lopez has been spotted with Affleck’s daughter, Violet, 18, on outings in the Hamptons.
Sources close to the couple pointed to deeper issues beyond Lopez’s superstar status. “The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and didn’t know what was happening to her with the attention on their marriage is not true,” an insider explained.
Lopez has reportedly tried to blend into Affleck’s family, with his children maintaining a close relationship with her. “JLo wants to be there for Ben’s kids,” an insider shared. Despite their current conflicts, the couple still isn’t ready to publicly call it quits.
