After months of separation rumors, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have formally filed for divorce. The divorce comes just two years after the actors got married. Although the couple has no children together, Affleck is the father of three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and Lopez is the mother of twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. The two are very close with all of their children.

This is how the kids are taking the divorce
The five kids – Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, and 16-year-old twins Max and Emme – are ready to move on amid the divorce. “Her kids are taking it well, as are his kids. Everyone is ready to move on,” a source close to the whole divorce situation said shortly after Lopez filed for divorce. The five siblings share a close bond after Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in 2021. They have been spotted together at shopping malls, amusement parks, and on vacations with their parents, reports Page Six.
According to sources, Lopez was concerned about how it would affect the kids during the divorce rumors. “There are five kids involved. She knew they were going to be combining families. She hasn’t fully accepted that it’s over,” the source said, as reported by Page Six. Their divorce was confirmed on Tuesday, August 20, when Lopez filed legal documents in Los Angeles Superior Court. There was no lawyer present and the On the Floor singer listed the separation date as April 26, 2024.

Lopez filed for divorce
Incidentally, Lopez filed for divorce on the second anniversary of her wedding to Affleck at a Georgia wedding ceremony. She did not mention any prenup and requested a waiver of spousal support for both parties.
The news of Lopez filing for divorce was first reported by TMZ. The couple had been rumoured to be separated for the past 5-6 months, with Affleck being spotted without a ring and Lopez going on a solo trip.
The Batman actor did not attend the Met Gala with Lopez, after which the two spent the entire summer apart, including celebrating the 4th of July, their second wedding anniversary and Lopez’s birthday in the Hamptons. The two also listed their shared home in Beverly Hills for sale and Affleck bought himself a bachelor pad in Los Angeles.
