“Did you think I was a flower because my name is Pushpa?” A cinema lover quips before entering the Regent Theater near Gandhi Maidan for a viewing Pushpa 2: RulesCinemagoers stood under banners of specially designed 46×20 feet posters of the film.

The Allu Arjun starrer has been drawing crowds at the Gandhi Maidan area since November 17, when the trailer of the film was launched here. At the trailer launch, thousands of people gathered to get a glimpse of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.

The Bhojpuri crowd has gone crazy about this Telugu film, which is attracting huge crowds in 450 single-screen theaters across the state. Films from South India have done good business not only in Patna but also in small towns of the state like Arrah, Sasaram, Biharsharif, Rajgir, Chapra, Hajipur, Dehri and Gaya.

Except for some Bollywood movies like woman 2 And Gadar 2, movies like kfg 2, Kantara, and the most recent brother-in-law Has performed very well in Bihar. Alone in Patna, Pushpa 2 105 shows are shown daily. And if theater owners are to be believed, even during the harsh winter of Bihar, the 7 am shows at Regent Theater remained housefull on the first, second and third day.

Ticket prices on weekends range between ₹200 to ₹430 and weekday shows cost ₹160 to ₹300. The demand can be gauged from the fact that in some theaters, touts were selling tickets at a premium of ₹800.

As far as box office draw is concerned, Pushpa 2 It has become the first film to collect ₹2 crore in the last two days; This is such a huge earning that is even more than the ticket sales before the pandemic.

“I wouldn’t mind paying even ₹1,000 to watch Pushpa; His dialogues make me crazy. I wanted to see this film in the first show on the first day but did not get the ticket. There are five of us and today we have decided to see it at any cost. Forget Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, Allu is the real hero for me,” said Neelu Kumar, a resident of Rajendra Nagar area, where Elphinstone Theater is located in Patna.

Mr Arjun expressed his gratitude to the people of Patna by saying his famous dialogue in broken Hindi, “Pushpa does not bow down to anyone but will bow down to anyone.”

When asked why films from India’s south perform well in the Bhojpuri-speaking state, Bihar-based film critic Vinod Anupam explained The Hindu“People of Bihar always loved watching South Indian films; Pushpa is out now but people in Bihar have been watching Hindi dubbed Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies on television for a long time. Before Allu Arjun’s pan-India acceptance, people in Bihar already knew and loved him as a star.

Mr. Anupam further added, “Unlike other states, Mr. Arjun did not have to work hard to create a new audience in Bihar because people already knew him very well. By coming to Bihar and launching the trailer, he gave recognition to his Bihar fans, who started seeing him in a theatrical experience instead of watching them on the television screen. This was a morale booster for his Bihar-based fans. Mister Arjun has a grassroots audience unlike Hindi language films which mostly cater to multiplexes and the urban class. The population of Bihar is 13 crores and everyone has a mobile. His fans watch him not only on single-screen but also on mobile phones.

He said that at least two percent of the box office collection comes from Bihar.

Suman Sinha, owner of Bihar’s oldest single screen Regent Theater, openly accepted this. Pushpa 2 This has earned him the most profit from all the films released so far.

“You will go back to the 90s after watching this film. This angry young man also gives the feel of Mr. Bachchan Sir Of wall, don, And chainAs a theater owner, I have watched his film three times so far because every time, I realized that I missed a dialogue or a scene or an emotion. The best thing due to which the audience is liking it is the convincing action. He has already given a message in the Hindi belt by launching the trailer from Patna. There is a lack of content in Bollywood films these days, due to which South Indian films are becoming pan-Indian films,” Mr Sinha said.

at the box office, Pushpa 2 It has crossed the ₹400 crore mark globally since its release.
