New Delhi: Bigg Boss 19 is once again in the news, but this time regarding the controversy related to contestant Ashnoor Kaur. Fellow contestants Kunika Sadanand, Shahbaz Badeshah, Neelam Giri and Tanya Mittal faced criticism for body shaming the 21-year-old girl inside the house. The comment has now drawn a reaction from Ashnoor’s father, Gurmeet Singh, who hasn’t shied away from defending his daughter.
Ashnoor’s father hit back on Instagram
On Thursday, Gurmeet Singh shared a reel on Instagram which included the comments made by Amaal, Kunika, Tanya, Neelam and Shehbaz about Ashnoor. Reacting to the video, she wrote, “Why is everyone so insecure about a 21 year old girl? Oh I know… They can’t match her level of dignity and grace.”

Controversial comment in Bigg Boss house
The comments reportedly came in different settings inside the house. Amaal and Shehbaz were seen together, with Amal saying, “Ande jaisi shakal hai” (She has an egg-like face), and Shehbaz saying, “She has become a thepla.”
Meanwhile, Tanya, Kunika and Neelam were sitting at the dining table discussing the food prepared by Ashnoor. The trio reportedly speculated about Ashnoor’s weight despite her detox diet and regular workouts.
Neelam and Tanya reportedly said, “Kitni moti hai, saara din gym karti hai phir bhi itni moti kaise? Her clothes will suit us more” (She is so fat, how is she still so big despite going to the gym every day? Her dresses will look good on us). Tanya also claimed that Ashnoor looks older than her, while Kunika said, “Even my 13-year-old granddaughter knows what to eat and what not to eat.”
Salman Khan face to face in Weekend Ka Vaar
This controversy escalated during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode. A promo shared by the channel read, “Discussion about Ashnoor cost Tanya and Neelam ko mehenga! Salman took his class on Weekend Ka Vaar” (Discussion about Ashnoor cost Tanya and Neelam dearly! Salman lectured them on Weekend Ka Vaar).
During the episode, Salman Khan spoke to Tanya and Neelam about their comments. Neelam initially said, “She’s good looking,” while Tanya said, “She looks like a princess.”

However, Salman revealed the truth, “Really? Neelam, you are proud of your gossip. Why don’t you say it now? Tanya, you said she looks like an elephant, a dinosaur, fat and ugly. Who gave you the right to say all this?”
Ashnoor, looking stunned, replied firmly: “Wow, Tanya… you should be ashamed.”
