New Delhi: Bigg Boss 19 contestant Farhana Bhatt’s family has filed a defamation suit against co-contestant Amaal Malik’s aunt Roshan Gary Bhinder for calling her a “terrorist” in a YouTube interview. The action follows comments allegedly made by Bhinder during an interview, following which the family issued a public apology and sought compensation of ₹1 crore.
In a statement released to the public, Bhatt’s family expressed emotional distress over the content of the interview. According to the press note, the video contained false and hateful statements, including “baseless allegations” that Farhana was a terrorist.
The notice further states that the family demands “immediate removal of the offending video, a public apology and a compensation of ₹1 crore for reputational and emotional damage.”

A case has reportedly been filed with the National Commission for Women and Maharashtra State Commission for Women for appropriate action.
Bhatt’s team also took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the development. “Our team confirms that a formal legal notice has been issued following the derogatory comments made publicly,” the post reads.
According to the press note, a legal notice has been sent to Roshan Gary Bhinder, Fifafuz YouTube channel and YouTube India. Farhana’s family has specified damages of ₹1 crore for the alleged reputational and emotional damage caused to Bhatt.

Legal notice confirmed by Farhana’s team
The statement read, “Legal action has been initiated against Ms. Farhana Bhatt for the derogatory and hateful comments. The family of actress and national level Taekwondo athlete Ms. Farhana Bhatt expresses deep grief over the derogatory and communally charged comments made against her currently in Bigg Boss Season 19. Legal notice issued to Mrs. Roshan Gary Bhinder, Fifafooz YouTube channel and YouTube India for publishing and promoting false and hateful statements. Calling Ms Bhatt a ‘terrorist’ is an insulting and baseless allegation.
It further added, “The family has chosen to respond with dignity and legal recourse rather than stooping to the level of mudslinging and online incitement being perpetrated by the other party. The notice demands immediate removal of the offending video, a public apology and a compensation of ₹1 crore for reputational and emotional damage. Copies of the notice have also been sent to the National Commission for Women and the Maharashtra State Commission for Women for appropriate action. The family urges the public and media to stop spreading it. Respect unverified or hateful content and the legal process currently underway.
Copies of the notice have reportedly been sent to both the commissions, and their intervention has been requested in the matter.
The notice appealed to the public and media to refrain from circulating unverified or hateful content against Bhatt.
Farhana Bhatt, who is currently seen in Bigg Boss 19, is an actor and peace activist.
