Wells Studio is the actual occupier of that land, and they do not have the actual consent to operate as per the rules under the Air Act and the Water Act. For this reason, and because of some non-compliance, A closure order was issued yesterday.”

They run some amusement parks, have some hotel rooms and have some STPs of 250 KLD (sewage treatment plant designed to treat 250,000 liters of sewage per day) which are not in operation and some solid waste management is not as per PCB norms and all these things were non-compliant, they were there, Non-compliance, except they didn’t do it, they didn’t apply for it. Consent to operate is a requirement under the Air Act and Water Act. He is not there; That’s why we issued the closure order.”

“They don’t even have consent, which is the basic document to run any industry or any activity; you need consent, which they did not apply for, despite our repeated notices they did not do so,” Lingaraju said.
