Mumbai: On his X account, Haasan revealed that he has to step away from the show due to his prior commitments in cinema.
In his statement he wrote, “Dear viewers, with a heavy heart I would like to inform you that I am taking a short break from our journey that began 7 years ago. Due to prior cinematic commitments, I am unable to host the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil.”
He also expressed his gratitude towards the audience, saying, “I am privileged to have access to your homes. You have showered me with your love and affection, for which I will remain forever grateful. Your enthusiastic and passionate support towards the contestants is the core of what makes Bigg Boss Tamil one of the best television reality shows in India.”

Reflecting on his experience, Haasan said, “Personally, being your host has been an enriching association where I have honestly shared my learnings. I will always be grateful for this learning experience. I sincerely thank all of you and the contestants of the show for the time you spent with us. Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful team of Vijay TV as well as every crew member who has been involved in making this venture a huge success. I am sure this season will be another success.”
Kamal Haasan has been a part of ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ since it first aired in 2007. The actor has hosted every season of ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ consecutively. The new host for ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 8’ is yet to be announced.
