Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood director Karan Johar was born on 25 May 1972 in Mumbai. Karan Johar is celebrating his 52nd birthday on May 25. Karan Johar’s life was not like other star kids. As a child, Karan had to endure taunts for behaving like girls. People used to tease and make fun of him. People called him gay, the trolling continues to this day.

Karan Johar was very fat in childhood but his voice was thin. Karan often danced to his favorite song Dafli Wale. School children used to tease him because of his nature. The constant bullying made Karan so insecure that he stopped talking to people. He didn’t even make friends.

Karan’s father Yash Johar was the only one who understood his son. Not only this, Yash is not ashamed of Karan’s separation. Whenever Yash’s friends would come to his house, he would ask his son to dance in front of everyone. Karan used to follow Jaya Prada’s dance steps every time while dancing to Dafli song and his father clapped.

Karan started his career in acting with the help of his father. He first acted in Doordarshan’s show Indradhanush. Subsequently, she assisted director Aditya Chopra in the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and also played the role of Shah Rukh’s friend in the film. During the shooting, Shah Rukh advised Karan to make films himself.

After the shooting of DDLJ, Shah Rukh Khan called Yash Johar and said that I want Karan to direct the film, you ask him to start the preparation soon. One day at 2 am, Shahrukh talked to Karan on message and asked him what kind of film he wanted to make. After some time Karan started writing films. They have signed only Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the film. Released in 1998, this film won the National Award and 8 Filmfare Awards, everyone knows the name of this film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. For which Karan also received the Filmfare Award for Best Director.
