official trailer of black warrantStarring Vikramaditya Motwane, was unveiled by Netflix today.
The period drama series stars Zahaan Kapoor, grandson of late cinema legend Shashi Kapoor, in the lead role.
It is a dramatic adaptation of the book by former Tihar Jail superintendent Sunil Gupta and journalist-writer Sunetra Chaudhary. Black warrant: Tihar jailer’s confession,
The show, which also stars Rahul Bhatt, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur and Siddhant Gupta, will arrive on Netflix on January 10, 2025.
The trailer sees Kapoor as Sunil Gupta, who along with his two trusted fellow jailers take on the notorious inmates and deep politics of Tihar.
The official logline reads, “Armed with little more than grit and determination, the trio face huge challenges within Tihar. This never-before-seen account explores the deeply personal stories of the prisoners, the officers, and their complex dynamics Will they be able to challenge the system and bring about change for the better, or will Tihar change them?”
Motwane, who previously worked on Netflix’s first India original sacred game and also directed CTRL For streamers, co-created black warrant Along with Satyanshu Singh, who also serves as co-director along with Ambika Pandit, Arkesh Ajay and Rohin Ravindran Nair.
The filmmaker mentioned that the series gave him the opportunity to explore a hidden world that is difficult, complex and full of contradictions.
