Seoul: This series features two couples traveling through zombie-infested Seoul. The man, played by Park Jung-min, faces a zombie outbreak during his mandatory military service. His girlfriend, played by Jisoo, is an engineer who has a new job and is waiting for his release.
Separately, the pair travel around the city and fight off zombie attacks in an attempt to reunite.
The series marks the directorial debut of Yoon Sung-hyun, best known for the 2011 film “Bleak Night” and action-thriller “Time to Hunt”, reports variety.com.
Jisoo has made several cameo appearances in Korean TV series and played a leading role in the 2020 period action-comedy series “Snowdrop.” She had a minor role in “Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman” and is said to be part of “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,” a multi-part film adaptation of a hit webtoon.
Blackpink renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment last year. But the band members did not. Rose moved to Black Label, while the other three set up independent labels, and all are now doing solo projects.
The series will be available on Coupang Play, the online arm of Korean e-commerce giant Coupang.
It said the show was co-scripted by Han Jin-won, who co-wrote Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” and Ji Ho-jin, who wrote the screenplay for “A Shop for Killers.”
Filming has been completed and the full show, previously titled “Influenza”, is expected to be released at an unspecified date in 2025.
