Blackpink’s Jennie signs with Columbia Records as solo artist, announces new single

Jenny’s solo venture

In December 2024, the members of Blackpink announced that they were parting ways with their label, YG Entertainment, as they embark on their solo journeys. However, all group activities will be conducted through the YG label. In June 2023, Jennie released One of the Girls with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of actor Johnny Depp. As reported by Billboard, the track was featured on HBO’s The Idol, with the latter two cast members from the series.

Jennie’s solo has since been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify and has been certified platinum by the RIAA. This track was followed by her next solo You & Me, which opened at the number 1 spot on the Billboard Global Excel US chart. With this explosive debut, she became the second member to do so, before Rose’s On the Ground.

His first solo song, the aptly titled Solo, was released in 2018 and topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. This year he released a few collaborations, including SPOT! with ZICO and Slow Motion with Matt Champion.

Other Blackpink members’ solo tour

After splitting from YG Entertainment, Jisoo released her debut album titled Me in March 2023 which included hits like Flower and All Eyes on Me. She also recently launched her own record label named Blissoo. Lisa released her first solo single titled Rockstar after splitting in June 2024. Like Jisoo, she also launched her own label record titled LLOUD. She released a few solo tracks in 2021 as well. Rosé’s first single album R was released in March 2021.
