Blake Lively was spotted kissing her husband Ryan Reynolds in what was her first public appearance amid the It Ends With Us controversy and rumors of her looking for a home outside of Hollywood. The Hollywood couple was among a few names in attendance at a unique pool party at friend Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home on Saturday, August 24.
Lively was spotted wearing floral shorts and a coral bikini top, while her husband wore a pink shirt and a blue hat, reports Page Six.
Why Were Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds at Taylor Swift’s Beach House?
Paparazzi photos of Blake and Ryan took over the internet after various media outlets shared photos of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reuniting at their Rhode Island beach house. The Green Lantern couple wasn’t the only couple soaking up the sun with Taylor and Travis.
Kelce’s NFL teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes also enjoyed the weekend at Swift’s home. The star-studded holiday mood started at the $17 million beach house the pop star purchased in 2013 during her Eras tour break and right before Kelce and Mahomes’ new NFL season. The place is famous for Swift’s Gatsby-style 4th of July parties, which she skipped this year due to her world tour.
Also in attendance were Travis’ brother Jason Kelsey and his wife, Kylie, and their three daughters.

Blake Lively controversies are mounting
Though initially well-liked, Lively has recently been subjected to a flurry of controversies, including her “bump” conversation during an awkward interview with Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa in 2016. The video surfaced amid the ongoing promotion of It Ends With Us, a film that tackles serious topics like domestic violence and co-stars Justin Baldoni, who also directed the film.
Blake was already the focus of heavy criticism for her behavior during promotion. Many accused her of “tone-deaf” behavior when talking about her latest film, which deals with provocative topics. While the name of the film was already surrounded in a cross-wired scandal related to Lively and Baldoni’s alleged feud, several other interactions with reporters in the past together resurfaced.
The actress has also faced criticism in the past for her frequent use of transgender slurs. An It Ends With Us insider also claimed that Lively’s behavior during the filming process caused serious drama on set. Earlier this month, the source told DailyMail.com that “everyone was a little scared of Blake” because “she wasn’t mean — she was just so effortlessly rude.”

Taylor Swift distances herself from It Ends With Us controversy
Lively’s friend Taylor Swift has also been a victim of the social media uproar. Despite her 2020 song “My Tears Ricochet” being used in Blake’s new film, the pop superstar has apparently kept mum about It Ends With Us. Her silence on the issue wouldn’t have been a big deal, but it’s become especially concerning as she continues to promote several other projects with her friends.
Earlier, she praised Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for Deadpool and Wolverine. Sabrina Carpenter also received a lot of love and praise for her new album, “Short N Sweet”. The latest name on the list of social media mentions is Zoe Kravitz, whose directorial debut Blink Twice, starring Channing Tatum, recently hit theaters.
