Blake Lively has accused her ‘It End’s With Us’ co-star and director Justin Baldoni of actions she says have negatively impacted her career, including this week’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ ‘ Including losing the much-coveted opportunity to host the season 50 opener.
In a formal complaint filed with the California Department of Civil Rights, Lively made detailed allegations against Baldoni, claiming he damaged her reputation and created a “hostile work environment” on the set.
“The effects on Ms. Lively’s professional life were immediate and substantial,” Lively said in the lawsuit. Given the ongoing nature of the campaign and the associated negative public sentiment, Ms. Lively did not believe she could proceed with public appearances or events without being forced to openly discuss what happened on the set.

Lively also claimed that she lost hosting the premiere episode of the 50th anniversary season of ‘Saturday Night Live’ in September 2024. The complaint also said Lively canceled a major Target corporate event for her hair care brand due to the fallout.
The filing described a meeting between Lively and Baldoni in January 2024, arranged to discuss her return to the ‘It End’s With Us’ set following the conclusion of the Hollywood labor strike. During this meeting, Lively alleged that Baldoni made inappropriate comments about her weight, discussed her sex life, and pressured her to disclose her religious beliefs.
The Gossip Girl star also accused the film’s producer and Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios CEO Jamie Heath of showing a video of his wife giving birth, which she found extremely inappropriate.
Lively’s complaint also included screenshots of texts and emails between herself, Baldoni and members of her team. The messages allegedly revealed a “multi-layered plan” to “destroy” Lively’s reputation. “If any issues between the ‘It Ends With Us’ co-stars became public, they would begin a campaign to smear her name,” the complaint states.

Brian Friedman, attorney for Baldoni and the studio, denied all allegations, saying they were “completely false, defamatory and intentionally libelous.”
