Los Angeles, Sep 19 (IANS) Actor Blake Lively, who is set to star in the big screen adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book “It Ends with Us”, says fans of the source material will not be disappointed with the upcoming movie.
In “It Ends with Us,” Lively stars opposite Justin Baldoni, who also directed the film.
Lively said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, “Some people will always like the book more than the movie and some people will always like the movie more than the book, but I think we’ve done our best to honor the book and the fans, and I think we’ve really made something that works in its own right as well.”
The film is based on the story of Lily Bloom, who thinks she has found the love of her life in Riley Kincaid.
According to the official synopsis, “However, after a disturbing incident of abuse reminds her of her dark past, she must decide if love is the only thing that can keep her marriage going. Plus, things are further complicated by the return of her first love into her life: a man she took into her home many years ago when he was homeless.”
Even if someone hasn’t read the book, the “Gossip Girl” star assured them they’ll love the movie and vice versa.
“If you don’t know the book, the movie will work for you. I don’t think if you’ve read the book and seen the movie, you won’t be thrilled. We’ve worked really hard on it.
“I also think that if you saw the movie and then read the book, you wouldn’t say, ‘Wait, that’s not the case.’ You could do either. I think they’re both really beautiful,” she added.
“It Ends With Us” will be released on August 9 and also stars Brandon Sklenar, Alex Neustadter, Isabella Ferrer and Jenny Slate.
