Streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar on Tuesday released the trailer video for fans on Instagram.
The trailer begins with a woman who has lost her memory after an accident. When she reaches an island with her husband, she faces unexpected situations inside her home.
The trailer reminds fans of Vikram’s previous hit film Raaz (2002), starring Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea. The ghost and wind scenes in the film seem similar.
Gor said, “I feel very fortunate that Vikram sir (Vikram Bhatt) thought of me when he conceived this film. Horror is a genre that I enjoy and playing this role was interesting and challenging. It is completely different from my roles in 1920: Horrors of the Heart or Mansion 24. I am really grateful that I am considered when it comes to strong, emotional female characters and this gave me this wonderful opportunity to work with the Bhatts again. The character of Neha helped me explore my inner capabilities as an actor and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Disney+ Hotstar.”
Talking about the film, director Vikram Bhatt said, “It might be hard to believe me, but I am scared of watching horror films even though I enjoy making such films for the audience. I wanted to make a horror love story for a long time and when I spoke to Bhatt sahab about it, without a second thought, he said yes and Bloody Ishq was made. I wanted to retain some of the elements of a horror film like the dark setup, ghosts and spirits, while also adding my own twists to the story and giving it a fresh blend of love story, suspense and horror. Avika Gor is one of the most talented actresses in the industry and after 1920: Horrors of the Heart, I just knew I had to cast her in Bloody Ishq and she has outshone everyone with her performance. I am sure this film will leave an unforgettable mark on the audience of Disney+ Hotstar.”
Sharing his thoughts, producer Mahesh Bhatt said, “It is always great to make new films with Vikram as our vision is very similar and we are always on the same page when it comes to giving the audience what they love to watch. Bloody Ishq is a unique entertaining story that will leave the audience thinking about the film even after the film is over. A gripping story, unexpected twists and horrors that will constantly haunt, Bloody Ishq has all this and more and I am confident that Disney+ Hotstar viewers will definitely enjoy the film.”
The film is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on July 26.
