New Delhi:
Big budget films are getting flat. Directors, producers and people associated with the business of Hindi films are constantly complaining about the creative and financial bankruptcy of the industry. Kalki Kochlin, who joined Bandwagan, clearly stated that “Bollywood is in recession”.
During an appearance on podcast Alena breaks downKalki Kochlin talked about how Bollywood is struggling with a serious crisis.
“Recession is the way … does everyone know that there is a recession of Bollywood, that is why they are releasing everything again. There is no material. Whatever they are making is not working … that’s why everything is stalled,” he said.
He insisted that the people within the industry are well aware of it but they are powerless to control the damage.
“Kyunki kisiko pata nahi kya chal raha hai … kya nahi chal raha hai … kuch predictions Nahi Ho Raha Hai … So everything is stalled … Everything is stuck … Creative teams are being stuck and are being removed again … They do not know that people do not know that people are not knowing. (Because no one knows what is working … what is not working … no predictions are happening … so everything is stalled … Everything is stuck … The creative teams are being removed and are being fired again … They don’t just know why it is not doing this work … and I think people do not realize that this crisis is going on), ”
Kalki Kochlin, citing the context of “Tripling Effect”, said that the entire collapse of eco-system has influenced everyone associated with business.
“I have talked to people from top to bottom … and at the top, they are like, 7 movies … crores of money are being spent and they cannot find a platform to release. And now there are small actors who have not worked in 2 years,” he said.
Earlier, Kalki’s ex -husband Anurag Kashyap also pulled out his anger over the lack of “creative excitement” in the industry. Anurag Kashyap said that his decision to go to the south has been affected by the lack of Bollywood’s creativity.
