Bollywood mourns the demise of veteran actor Satish Shah: Amitabh Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and others pay heartfelt tribute to the comedy legend

Mumbai: After the demise of late Satish Shah on Saturday, condolences and heartfelt tributes continue to pour in for him. While his family, friends and industry colleagues stood in solidarity at his cremation, the Bollywood fraternity also paid their tribute to Shah.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan joined the ranks of tributes, sharing an emotional message.

Big B wrote, “Another day, another work, another peace. Another demise of us.. A young talent, Satish Shah has left us at a very young age.. And the stars they favor are not for all of us.. And these are serious times.. It is not good to express in normalcy.. Foreboding us in every moment.. It is easy to follow that old saying.. But the show must go on.. And so it is like life It will work.” In a blog post.

He further said, “Each day is an alternative express.. or wherever ‘the show’ should guide us… So.. even in crisis and despair the hopelessness, the face of normalcy and the task of work, remains.. but no.. it is unreasonable to chase normalcy.”

Actor Salman Khan also paid his tribute by sharing a picture of a scene they shared with him on

Sushmita Sen, who worked with Satish Shah in ‘Main Hoon Na’, wrote on her Instagram story, “Thank you for brightening our lives!! Rest in peace sir, Satish Shah.”

Vivek Oberoi wrote a heartfelt note remembering the late actor’s work and his kind personality.

“They often say cliché that a person can light up every room by being present in it. But Satish Shah sir was really that person. He was a father to me on screen during my first film, Saathiya, always patient, protective and ready with a joke to ease my nervousness. He made Indravadan Sarabhai a character that the entire nation loved and those who knew him remembered him for his kindness and grace. Will remember. Oh my God, sir. You will be greatly missed and always loved.” Vivek wrote in an X post.

Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R Madhavan, Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher, Johnny LeverFarah Khan and Karan Johar also expressed grief and paid tribute.

Comedy legend Johnny Lever paid tribute to Satish Shah, remembering the actor’s memorable contributions to the television and film industry. Actor Johnny Lever shared a throwback photo with the actor on his Instagram handle and wrote, “Extremely sad to share that we have lost a great artist and my dearest friend of over 40 years. It’s hard to believe. I spoke to him just two days ago. Satish bhai, you will be truly missed. Your immense contribution to film and television will never be forgotten.”

Choreographer and director Farah Khan, who worked with Satish Shah in the superhit film ‘Main Hoon Na’, recalled her experience of working with the actor. Paying tribute to the actor, Farah said, “May your soul rest in peace. Dearest Satish, it was a pleasure knowing you and working with you. I will miss sending you memes and jokes every day.”

Anupam Kher shared an emotional video for Satish Shah after the actor’s “shocking” demise. Remembering the actor, Anupam Kher described Satish Shah as a ‘knowledgeable’ person. Anupam Kher said, “Shocking, it’s shocking. I was in many films with him. He used to make me laugh. His common sense was very good. I used to bless him.”

In his tweet, Hrithik wrote, “I will never forget the kindness you showed towards a newcomer like me on the set. Your humor and legacy will continue to inspire. My deepest condolences to the family and friends.”

The late actor’s ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ co-stars including Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, Jamnadas Majethia and Deven Bhojani were present at the funeral, and bid a tearful farewell at the cremation.

Satish Shah died on Saturday at the age of 74 due to kidney complications.

As far as late actor Satish Shah is concerned, the actor’s diverse filmography includes popular hits like the satirical black comedy ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ (1983), ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and ‘Shaadi No. 1’.
