In a moment of pride for Indian independent cinema, acclaimed actors Boman Irani and Makarand Deshpande unveiled the official poster of the upcoming urban drama Chindi Pakad by filmmaker Prasenjit Chakraborty at the Indian pavilion during the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Hosted by Sristei Creation Film Productions, in association with Rituparnana Sengupta, the poster launch attracted considerable attention to its symbolic design and hard-touching story.
About the film
Chindi Pakad dives deeply in the serious realities of urban life, such as addictive issues such as drug addiction, poverty and existence. The bold title design of the film – with a green bottle, which replaces the letter “I” in Chindi – serves as a stunning visual metaphor for the discovery topics of films.
Speaking at the event, Boman Irani said, “It is inspiring to see filmmakers to see raw, real stories at the forefront. Chindi Pakad is such a compelling journey, and I am honored to help it launch it on this global stage.”
Makarand Deshpande said, “The intensity and symbolism of the poster hit me immediately. Such films give voice to neglect and reflect us on the society in which we live.”
Director Chindi shares ideas about Pakad
Writer-director and producer Prasenjit Chakraborty (Priyam) shared his views, saying, “Chindi Pakad is not just a film-it is a voice for Woyslees. Launching his poster in Cannes with veterans like Boman Irani and Makarand Deshpande is a dream truth and a very big step for an independent story.”
The film is produced by Parasenjit Chakraborty, with a co-producer with United Colors Entertainment and Surendra Chaurasia. Scriptworld Entertainment involves the project as a creative manufacturer.
With his raw realism, powerful tale and socially echoing subjects, Chindi Pakad is ready to create a significant impact. The trailer and release date will be announced soon.
