Border and Dharmendra’s connection
During the launch of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ at Jaisalmer’s Tanot border, Sunny Deol got emotional while discussing his connection with the original border, reports ANI. Speaking to BSF jawans and the media, he revealed that the 1997 film was actually inspired by his father Dharmendra’s 1964 war classic, Haqeeqat, which he said had a “deep impact” on him as a child.
Talking about his inspiration, Deol shared this He always intended to make a film that reflected the influence of his father’s work. He said, “I did ‘Border’ because when I saw my father’s (Dharmendra) film ‘Haqiqat’, I loved it. I was a child then. So, when I became an actor, I decided to make a film similar to my father’s film. I spoke to JP Dutta and we decided to make a film on the Longewala theme, which is very close to our hearts and lives in the hearts of all of you.” He said that he collaborated with JP Dutta to focus on the Battle of Longewala because the subject was extremely personal to him and held significant meaning for the soldiers present.
