The shooting of ‘Border 2’ starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty has officially started. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is the much-awaited sequel to the 1997 classic ‘Border’, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the India-Pakistan War of 1971. The original directed by JP Dutta had a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna and others.

About Border 2
‘Border 2’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, while T-Series and JP Dutta’s JP Films are backing the project. The sequel aims to continue the legacy of the iconic first film while delivering an even grander cinematic experience. The story is said to be centered on the 1999 Kargil war, where the Pakistani Army intruded into Indian territory along the Line of Control (LOC).
Sunny Deol will be seen playing his role again in the film along with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. Announced in June, Sunny Deol’s participation was confirmed, with news of Varun and Diljit’s casting coming in August and September respectively.
