Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh seeks legal help to remove ‘Pitt’ from her surname

Reports suggest that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh has requested to legally remove “Pitt” from her surname following her parents’ controversial separation.

According to TMZ, Shiloh, who turns 18 on Monday, May 27, has requested to change her legal name to Shiloh Jolie.

Earlier, the 18-year-old had removed the surname “Pitt” from her Instagram profile.

Pitt’s kids ‘want nothing to do with him’

The decision to drop Pitt from his surname comes shortly after it was revealed that his sister Vivienne, 15, had also dropped “Pitt” from her name.

Vivienne, who is part of the production team of the new Broadway musical play The Outsiders, is listed in the playbill as Vivienne Jolie.

Multiple sources have reported that Jolie’s other children with Pitt – Zahara, Maddox, Pax and Knox – also no longer use her last name. However, Shiloh was the first to make the legal change.

Reports of a strained relationship between Pitt, 60, and his children have been common since the couple separated in 2016 after two years of marriage and 12 years together.

Last year, his daughter Zahara, 19, was introduced to her university sorority as Zahara Marley Jolie, which did not include her father’s last name.

Jolie leaves Pitt because he ‘physically abused the kids’

Jolie reportedly initiated the couple’s divorce following an incident on a private flight from France to Los Angeles in September 2016.

However, Pitt denied all allegations at the time, and was not charged following an investigation into misconduct claims relating to the 2016 flight.

In November last year, his 20-year-old son Pax had reportedly called the Bullet Train actor a “world class prude” and “an absolutely horrible human being”, in a scathing Father’s Day post on his private Instagram account three years ago.

“You have proven yourself time and again to be a horrible and despicable person,” Pax reportedly wrote, alongside a photo of Pitt accepting the Oscar for best supporting actor in 2020 for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

He further wrote, “You have no sympathy or empathy for your four youngest children who tremble with fear in your presence.”

Earlier this year, Jolie’s lawyers claimed that “Pitt’s history of physical abuse toward Jolie began well before the family’s September 2016 trip to Hawaii”, but they also said that the trip “marked the first time he physically abused the children”, which prompted Jolie to immediately end the relationship.
