The legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, has escalated and created many rifts among family members. While the former husband and wife have been at loggerheads for a long time, their children are also bearing the brunt of it.
The Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-stars have six children together – Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, Knox, Pax, and Maddox. The cumulative effect of growing up in public and their parents’ current broken dynamics is affecting the family lineage significantly. After everything that has possibly happened between Hollywood’s former ‘It’ couple, their kids are now finally clarifying their stance on the family feud, which has come out as silent killers, especially for Pitt.
Vivienne, 15, is the latest member of the family to reportedly drop “Pitt” from her father’s name.

Vivienne Jolie drops “Pitt” from her name
According to InTouchWeekly, the teen was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill credits for The Outsiders, indirectly suggesting that she, along with her sisters, had dropped her father’s name.
Jolie-Pitt’s youngest daughter joined her mother in the production of the Broadway play, which began production in early 2024. She was also reportedly credited as an assistant for it. Praising the theatre student, the Salt star told media sources that she inspired her to take over as a producer on The Outsiders. She said, “(Vivienne) reminds me of my mom, because she’s not focused on being the center of attention, but on supporting other creative people.”
Despite being photographed with them for a long time, Pitt has reportedly been meeting his children “on a regular basis.” In February, a source told InTouch that Pitt is doing his best to make their relationship work again. However, the new twist in this relationship says more than words about where Jolie and Pitt’s shared children stand in this split.
An insider told a magazine that since his kids are removing any mention of Pitt from their names, “it implies they don’t want anything to do with Brad.”

So, why would the group go this route despite rumours of them still being in contact with their father? The family’s former bodyguard, Tony Webb, suggested it was possibly Angelina’s doing. OK Magazine reports that one of her staff was overheard “encouraging” her [the kids] to avoid spending time with Mr. Pitt during custody visits.”
The original source who spoke about Pitt’s kids distancing themselves from their father also concluded that the current commotion surrounding the family “basically confirms Brad’s biggest fear: that Angelina has damaged his relationship with his kids.”
Vivienne Jolie is the couple’s third child to drop her father’s last name. Earlier, Zahara Marley Jolie introduced herself at a Spelman College sorority event with no mention of Pitt. In addition, on Shiloh’s personal Instagram account, as she was previously tagged in choreographer Lil Kellan Carter’s dance videos, her name is highlighted as “Shi Jolie.”
