Britney calls posts against Halsey ‘fake news’
On Friday, Britney expressed her thoughts after watching Halsey’s new music video on the micro-blogging platform, X. The singer was upset with the way she was portrayed in the video and wrote, “For obvious reasons, I am extremely upset about Halsey’s video. I feel harassed, disrespected and bullied. I had no idea that an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would portray me in such an ignorant way by presenting me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern,” as reported by The Mirror.
Britney recently deleted her Instagram account because she wanted to focus on mental health and she said, “I have my own health issues, which is why I took down my IG account yesterday. I will definitely get it back to show that I care. I am talking to my lawyers about what can be done about this matter. It seems illegal and absolutely cruel.”
However, she quickly deleted the post and claimed that it was not posted by her but written by someone else from her phone. She called the angry post against Halsey “fake news” and wrote in a new post, “That wasn’t me on my phone!!! I love Halsey and that’s why I deleted it.”
Halsey’s above video delves deep into the singer’s struggles with mental health and features Britney’s look from that era in her music video. She took inspiration from Britney’s look.
