HYBE has shared a statement on legal action against those who engage in malicious activities against their artists, including BTS, TXT, and SEVENTEEN. The agency also stated that “rumors of covert chart manipulation and unethical marketing are fabricated and completely unconnected with the artist.”
Part of the statement reads, “We have filed multiple complaints with the investigating agency… We would like to clarify once again that there is no association between BIGHIT MUSIC and BTS and Body & Brain. Rumors alleging that the artist or the artist’s songs are associated with Body & Brain are fictitious. Upon learning of Body & Brain’s illegal use of BTS’s intellectual property rights, we immediately demanded the removal of the relevant content and received a commitment to prevent any such occurrence in the future.”

It also read, “Should similar issues arise in the future, we will take decisive legal action to uphold and protect artists’ intellectual property rights in line with our principle. Similarly, in February, we communicated a cease and desist request to Global Cyber ​​University to prevent the unauthorized use of BTS’ intellectual property rights. We also want to clarify that rumors of covert chart manipulation and unethical marketing are fabricated and completely unconnected with the artist.”

It further added, “In addition to the authors of the malicious posts, we are taking separate legal action against those who violated the artist’s privacy. We are also pursuing civil and criminal cases against so-called ‘cyber destroyers,’ including the YouTube channel ‘Sojang’…An additional civil suit was filed earlier this year seeking damages for defamation and other illegal acts committed by ‘Sojang’ and is expected to go to trial soon. As per previous complaints filed, several cases were referred to the prosecutor’s office, and the suspects are awaiting settlement. We will strive to ensure that the suspects are held accountable, no matter how long it takes.”

A portion of TXT’s statement reads, “Specifically, we have identified activities centered around online communities that indicate a coordinated effort to disparage the achievement TOMORROW X TOGETHER has made with its fans and spread false information to harm the artist’s reputation. As such, they have been included in our complaints. In addition, we are taking legal action against malicious posts about the artist regardless of the channel, whether it be a social networking platform or an online community.”
