BTS, Jungkook has been breaking records despite being busy with his military service. The K-pop idol achieved a historic feat as his latest release Never Let Go debuted on the UK Official Singles Chart. The UK Official Chart is considered the equivalent of the US Billboard charts in the country. Jungkook wrote and produced the song as a gift for his fans ahead of BTS’ 11th anniversary. He revealed that he wrote the song while serving in the military and said that it was an unplanned song for ARMY.
BTS’ Jungkook makes history on the UK Singles Chart
Jungkook made history with his new single Never Let Go, which debuted on the UK Official Singles Chart. This was Jungkook’s seventh song to debut on the chart. According to Soompi, the song debuted at number 60 on Friday, June 14. This makes the K-pop star the first solo artist from Korea to have seven entries on the UK Official Singles Chart. Previous entries include Stay Alive in collaboration with Charlie Puth, Standing Next to You, Seven with Layto, Left & Right with Charlie Puth and Too Much in collaboration with The Kid Laroi and Central C.
Jungkook’s last release also debuted at No. 1 on the Official Singles Download Chart and No. 3 on the Official Singles Sales Chart this week.

Jungkook’s past achievements in the UK Singles Chart
Jungkook has also been a part of the UK Official Singles Chart before as he has entered the top 10 list four consecutive times with solos – Seven ft. Laito took the 3rd spot, 3D ft. Jack Harlow took the 5th spot, his collaboration with Central C Too Much took the 10th spot, and Standing Next to You from the solo album Golden reached the 6th spot on the chart. This made Jungkook the only K-pop solo singer with the most top 10 records.
Never Let Go is a song written by Jungkook as part of BTS Festa 2024 to celebrate the group’s anniversary.
