BTS’s Suga apologized and faced police questioning over a DUI incident after he was caught driving an electric scooter while intoxicated on August 6, 2024.
BTS’s Suga arrived for police questioning at Yongsan Police Station on August 23, where he faced criticism over his DUI case. The South Korean rapper is being investigated after he was caught drunk while driving an electric scooter on August 6, 2024. Dispatch reported that Suga arrived with his head bowed and offered a heartfelt apology to his fans during the questioning.
BTS Suga arrives for questioning in DUI case
Suga, who was reported to have been helped by police after he collapsed in front of Nine One Hannam and was drinking heavily, appeared for questioning in response to a summons issued for his investigation. He arrived at around 7:45 p.m., briefly spoke to a large crowd of press gathered outside the police station and then went inside for further investigation.
According to YTN, the Daechwita singer, dressed in a black suit and sporting short hair, arrived for the procedure after completing his public service event. Speaking to the press, Suga appeared calm and composed as he explained the incident and apologized to his fans.

(Translated statement) “First of all, I’m very sorry. I’m really reflecting on disappointing many fans and many people. I will go through the investigation diligently. Once again, I’m sorry,” Suga told the press, according to Koreaboo. Suga, clearly shaken by the incident, apologized twice: once upon arriving at the police station and again after giving his statement.
Yonhap releases new footage of BTS Suga
After JTBC, a major K-media outlet, apologized for providing incorrect footage of the singer, new footage has emerged, this time from Yonhap. The news outlet released new CCTV footage showing Suga riding his electric scooter. On the night of the incident, officers detected alcohol on him and he was taken to the nearest station. Blood tests later revealed his blood alcohol level was 0.227%.
