Then came Haseen Dilruba Haseen is a sequel to Dillruba, which premiered on the OTT platform Netflix in July 2021. The film starred Vikrant Massey, Taapsee Pannu and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead roles. The film was an intriguing tale of love and revenge that received mixed responses from critics and audiences alike. Taapsee (Rani) and Vikrant (Rishu) will reprise their roles in the new installment.

Sharing the challenges of recreating the frenzy around the character of Rani, Taapsee told the media, “Also, performance-wise, it wasn’t that challenging because after doing the first part, I knew what the audience liked and didn’t like in the character. So, this time I got a chance to improvise. I took on part two (Phir Aai Haseen Dillruba) with more confidence than part one (Haseen Dillruba). I hope the audience will feel the same. This time the character is deeper and sharper and the stakes are higher.”
