Cardi B has dismissed claims that her recent maternity photoshoot was a dig at Nicki Minaj.
Cardi B denied speculation that she threw shades at Nicki Minaj in her recent maternity photoshoot. The rapper posted photos from her maternity photoshoot on Instagram on Sunday, September 1. However, some sharp-eyed fans picked up certain elements from the photos and speculated that it was shade at the fellow rapper. Cardi B is expecting her third child with her partner Offset.

Cardi B dismisses speculation
Cardi B posted photos of herself on a motorcycle in front of a closed storefront, with her baby bump clearly visible. Graffiti art was spray painted on it. She captioned the post, “I wanna meet my little boo boo.” Some fans noticed ‘pedophile’ written above the word homesick and speculated if it was a shade at Nicki Minaj. Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty was a registered sex offender and was convicted of attempted rape in the first degree in 1995, as reported by Billboard.
Cardi B responded to the online speculation in a tweet to X on Monday, where she wrote, “First of all we literally picked a random street because the paparazzi were hounding us everywhere… This was supposed to be my first original photo and we had to edit the photo in minutes because the shoot was leaked.”
She further added, “I didn’t even have time to go into every detail because people were busy highlighting my pregnancy as an ‘aha’ moment…Secondly, I always say nonsense but I am not using my maternity shoot to make fun. Are you stupid??”
In another post, she lashed out at online viewers, writing, “My makeup artist touched up the picture because we didn’t have time to, it has the date and time written on it, no one noticed the graffiti… Second, if I wanted to be petty I would have posted so many memes last week… I keep telling y’all to leave me alone!! If I say I’m not on that schedule then don’t bring me on that schedule. Free yourself!!”

Feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj
Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have been feuding since 2017. The following year, the two rap stars got into a fight at Harper’s Bazaar’s ICONS party during New York Fashion Week. Social media footage released at the time showed the WAP singer using abusive language towards Minaj and throwing a shoe at her. She was seen leaving the event without shoes and with a knot on her head.
Cardi B announced her pregnancy on the same day she filed for divorce from the Migos singer for the third time. Her two other children with the singer are daughter Kulture, 6, and son WayV, who is almost 3.
