Case registered against influential Kalpika Ganesh after alleged misconduct in Hyderabad restaurant

Hyderabad: Social media affected and actress Kalpika Ganesh has been booked by Gachibovali police in connection with an alleged change in Hyderabad restaurant, Odam by Prism. The incident on May 29 went viral on social media platforms after capturing this episode.

According to the first Information Report (FIR), a formal complaint was submitted by Deepak Bajaj (38), Managing partner of Prism Club and Kitchen on June 6, 2025, underlining a series of disruptive works allegedly by Ganesh, which was done by Ganesh during a visit to the venue.

According to the complaint, with a male guest, Ganesh had a meal in the restaurant and consumed food and beverages worth Rs 2,200.


At the time of billing, around 11:30 pm, he allegedly demanded that sweets, one thing to be offered to be obtained.

Although the management instead raised a gesture of goodwill by offering a brownie, the complainant alleged that Ganesh refused to settle the bill, became aggressive, and verbally misused Deputy General Manager and General Manager, including abusive and body-shaking comments.
The situation allegedly rose when Ganesh threw the brownie plate, causing disturbances in the premises.

The FIR further stated that she went live on Instagram, making an announcement that she was making her followers, and later made false allegations of rape and molestation on social media. Kalpika Ganesh has also shared a video of the incident on her Instagram handle.

The complaint also stated that even in the presence of police officers, Ganesh allegedly continued his disruptive behavior, refused to cooperate, and verbally misused the personnel. The management claimed that this episode caused iconic damage to both the installation and its employees, as well as employee families in property damage, oral and physical abuse, false public narratives and personal defamation.

The evidence that supported the quoted evidence includes CCTV footage, video and witness testimony recorded by employees and guests. While the management delayed complaints to avoid an increase in the beginning, the frequent nature of alleged online stimuli inspired legal action.

The case was registered in the General Diary on 6 June, and a request was made before the Hon’ble Court for permission to register the case formally. On receiving approval, a case was registered on June 10, 2025, which was registered under the Indian Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) under 324 (4), 352, and 351 (2).

Inspector Anil Kumar, under the supervision of Gachibovali police station, the investigation has been handed over to WSI Akshita.
