Cecilian Choir from Bangalore, raises his voice for a reason

One of the oldest singers in Bengaluru, will perform for a funderizer in Bangalore, one of the oldest singers. Topic Memories are made of this, It is a funderizer for St. Joseph’s University Scholarship Programs. Cecilian Choir was given a group of musicians in 1982, Reverend Dr. Theodor was started under the leadership of Perera.

This year, the concert will be held in the St. Joseph’s Auditorium, and provides financial assistance to the students who come from the economically weaker sections of the society, Cecilian Choir President B. Paes.

The song players say, it has been for about 42 years. “We are probably the longest serving songs in Bangalore and intend to continue this legacy. All our forums are out of money.”

Arthur has described every amount of songs as a worthy reason and in the last few years, Cecilian Choir has helped in raising money with Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maria Seva Sangh, Abala Ashaya Sangh, Atma Shakti Wideli Society, Karunshreya Hospis, St. Mary’s orfability, Sumanahalli lapacies.

“In fact, when Karunhasaraya started, we helped raise funds for his infrastructure. The concert was held at Guru Nanak Bhavan,” Arthur recalls.

Apart from these, Arthur says that some of his memorable performances include the 1999 concert in the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism, Israel, who to perform in a monastery in Nazreth in Sherova Theater in Jerusalem and for millennium celebrations; And the 2011 concert was presented by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Bangalore School of Music (BSM); Pratibha Patil, in the presence of former President of India.

“We were the only song playing a song in Kannada at Rashtrapati Bhavan,” shares the corestar.

St. Joseph’s University, Arthur says, students help excellent academic records, high recipients and separate students. “The university also has a study and residential scholarship, besides giving them lunch, which most of the time, only a few students have food due to their financial condition. That is the one for which we are singing.”

The first half of the concert, Arthur, says, there will be music facilities in eight decades. “There will be a broadway musical medal, jazz, bellads and masterpieces, some of which will be a capela. The second half includes ‘Cross the Cross’ an Easter Canttta that entertains the song in a mixed and contemporary setting on Easter Sunday from Palm Sunday.”

The song players will be operated by Diradre Fernandes-Dominic and will include Rebecca Thomas-Colako (Piano), Justin A Santosh (Drum), Eric Samuel (Guitar), Pearl Mukadam (Bass), Darren Sherwin and Sabarish R (Keyst) and 25 King.

Sing in harmony, Arthur said that the song players have done nothing like the band’s performance. “We are a song players and sing in multi-part harmony, which can be either three, four, six or eight-eight. When we say ‘harmony’, I firmly believe that someone has to feel that to know how a voice can modify himself and give you a different tone, which leads to a brilliant experience.”

Arthur is a first tenner, and has been singing since 2000. “Becky, (Rebecca) has been with us since 2005. He is a prestigious pianist, known worldwide and now he is the director of the faculty with BSM (BSM (Bangalore School of Music).”

One himself taught singer, Arthur, took music as a young boy and started singing in his church song. “This is where you are seen by conductors and raised for coral singing. For me, coral singing came naturally and I found it easy to choose it.”

The concert is on 26 and 27 April at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on St. Joseph University Auditorium, 36 Lalbagh Road. Donor passed/passed on Bookmyshow.
