Veteran filmmaker Chandra Barot, who is known for Helling to Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 Panth Classic MalayHe died on Sunday (20 July) at a hospital in Mumbai. He was 86 years old.
Chandra has been battling ‘Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis’ (lung IPF-fibrosis) for the last 11 years and was receiving treatment at Guru Nanak Hospital according to his family. “Chandra died due to heart arrest due to chest infection at Guru Nanak Hospital at 6.30 am today. He had an IPF, which has been fibrosis of the lungs for the last 11 years,” his wife, Deepa Barot said. PTI,
