Suggestions from Raj Thackeray
In a meeting with Maharashtra Navneerman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray, Laxman Uteck requested Thackeray’s opinion on the matter, and he ultimately decided to implement it. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj (Rashmika Mandanna) and Maharani Yesubai (Vicky Kaushal) dance to traditional music from Maharashtra using the lezim, an instrument with deep roots in the state’s history and culture.
“The meeting with Raj Thackeray was to seek his advice. His knowledge of history, especially about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is extensive. He provided valuable suggestions for changes, which we will implement. As for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj For the scene playing ‘Lezim’, we will remove it.
He said, “We are removing the scene as it is not an important part of the film. If people feel that the portrayal is wrong, we are ready to make this change. Our aim has always been to respect Chhatrapati’s greatness and Sambhaji Maharaj has been performing for the world.
After four years in production, the film will finally premiere with the goal of educating people about the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. “This film is the result of four years of research by our team. It aims to educate the world about the contribution of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj as a great warrior and king. If any part of the film tarnishes this vision , so we have no hesitation in addressing it,” the filmmaker concluded.
‘Chhaa’ will be released on February 14, 2025.
