Indian chef Vikas Khanna often makes global headlines not only for his food but also for his relationships with stars. Early last month, the chef made headlines when Hollywood star Anne Hathaway visited his iconic New York restaurant Bungalow.
Famous Indian chefs are once again in the news, but this time for a reason that every desi will relate to.
After Anne Hathaway’s visit, the chef gave her several gifts – a handmade marble box from Agra, book kiss in kashmir By Monica Sehgal, and the very coveted Mysore Sandalwood Soap!
The gift went viral after the Indian soap brand’s ex handle posted a thank you note to the chef on January 2.
He wrote, “We are honored by Chef Vikas Khanna’s thoughtful gesture of presenting the iconic Mysore Sandal Soap to actress Anne Hathaway. 1/3”

Earlier, Chef Khanna had posted a short video of his meaningful gift on Instagram along with the caption, “Introducing Anne Hathaway’s amazing Mysore Sandalwood soap, handmade marble box from Agra and my favorite kiss in Kashmir by Monica Sehgal.” “

But this wasn’t just another gift for the Indian chef. His relationship with the Hollywood star is very deep.
In an emotional note on Instagram, Chef Vikas shared the story of how he watched countless Anne Hathaway movies, especially The Devil Wears Prada, with his sister Radha during her battle with lupus.
“I still remember the day I had to remove everything Devil Wears Prada And sex and the City Files from my computer. I saved him from sitting on the hospital bed with my sister and monitoring him. I have lost count of how many times Radha, Saman Mehmood and I watched those films together.
“She absolutely loved Anne Hathaway and knew every line of her the devil Wears Prada By rote. Speaking those dialogues brought him great joy – his happiest moments during that time. Somehow, I even memorized them all. Seeing her laugh was the best pain reliever,” he wrote in his post.
In his Instagram post, the chef also photoshopped Radha with the star to make her presence felt.
