What length will you travel to get away from your screen for some relief? Divine dilemma and a possible answer to Krishnaraja R, founder of Rishi Club. Given that he is demanding the same for himself, the founder of this event company has decided to jump at a deep end and landed in Muttukadu Lake on East Coast Road.

Taking a place as an inspiration, he has channeled this cool through intimate concerts that spotlight Indie musicians from Chennai – interestingly, on a cruise ship. It is away from congestion and pollution (one kilometer in the lake from the dock), they say. He hopes that once every two months, an experience can be imitated where people see a performance, talk to strangers, attach to the art of conversation, and most, see with their phone.

On June 21, Sienor, Tamil Indie Hits such as ‘Inmume Enna’ and ‘Paniira Malai’, will perform in a full moon night lake surrounded by the backwater of the Bay of Bengal. He is not new in the world of placing acoustic guitar in insensitive places, but this notion of performing on a cruise ship is also a different experience for him.

“I have done other small concerts on boats first. They have been magical. This is a new experience because cruise ships offers the option to perform with Emps [amplifiers]I am performing with my two other colleagues, who will play drums and guitars as part of the Sienor trio. We will play some favorite and some new tracks, ”he says.

While Sienor will perform on the upper deck, a live DJ and a food station (a coupon is provided on the purchase of a ticket) will be available under the deck. Krishnaraja says that the boat runs at a speed of five kilometers per hour. The organizer said that the company that has hired the ship also states that the board is not allowed and two lifeguards will always be present.

“We have only finished one version and it has come up with its own kink. For example, we need to find a huge generator to ensure that AMP works in the middle of the lake. Since I liked to organize and find out things, it seemed like a challenge that I was excited to try my hand. I hope that the later events say,” they say.

On April 20, Kritika Chidambaram, who participated in the first edition of this cruise concert with band, band, said it felt that it felt like a chil hangout among friends as the set up was intimate. “I had never seen Occa live performance and kicked to see them. However, the interesting part was on a boat and listening to them because otherwise, we would only look at him in bars and external places. A view of Chennai was beautiful from the middle of the lake,” she said.

Krishnaraj is eager to spot the culture of Tamil Nadu, which is why he is planning to perform Therukuthu on the onboard soon. For now, he wants only one thing – to ensure that Chennai’s largest natural resource, his skeep, has been kept for good use.

@Mutukadu boat house on July 21 at 8 pm. Tickets starting from ₹ 3,333 in the district.
