The filmmaker announced his decision after discussing the issue with Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence earlier in the day.

The trailer of the film, released earlier this week, features a sequence in which Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, who play Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Maharani Yesubai, are seen dancing with “Lezim”, a traditional musical instrument associated with the cultural heritage of Maharashtra. Speaking to reporters, Utekar said, “The meeting with Raj Thackeray was to seek his advice. His knowledge of history, especially about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is extensive.
