Hyderabad: Rajagopal Raju, father of popular Telugu actor Ravi Teja, died in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
As the news of his death came to light, the Telugu film industry and fans were equally condensed.
Actor Chiranjeevi shared a picture with Rajagopal Raju and reminded him of meeting the set of “Waltaire Veerayaa” (2023).
“I was very sad to hear about the passage of brother Ravi Teja’s father. I was last met him on the set of Waltaire Veeraya. He was very cheerful and talked with great enthusiasm. In this difficult time, my heartfelt condolences to his family.

Director Gopichand Malineni, who is known for films like “Jait”, “Bodyguard” and “Veera Simha Reddy”, also expressed his grief. He said, “@raviteja_offl’s father is deeply saddened by the loss of #Rajagopalraju Garu.
Along with many other, fans of the industry, also took to social media to present their condolences. One user wrote, “Oh God! God can rest his soul peacefully, my deep condolences to the month Maharaja family,” while another commented, “Heartfelt condolences to Mr. Ravi Teja and his family members. His father’s soul can rest in peace. Om Shanti.”
Ravi Teja’s father died eight years after the sad death of B Bharat Raj, who lost his life in a car accident in Hyderabad on 24 June 2017.
On the work front, Ravi Teja will be seen next time in Mass Jathara directed by Bhanu Bhogavrapu. The film is scheduled to release with Ganesh Chaturthi on August 27, 2025. He is working with his 76th film, temporarily #RT76 with director Tirumala Kishore. The shoot has resumed, and the first look and official title is expected to be released soon.
