Chris Martin talks about the Coldplay album
“We’re only going to make 12 proper albums, and that’s real… less is more. And for some of our critics, less would be more. It’s really important that we have that limit. Only 12 and a half The Beatles’ albums are almost all the same, so having all our heroes and that range means the quality control is just so much higher, and it’s almost impossible to make it up to one song, which is great.”
Chris shares band plans
He added, “I don’t know where the songs come from. I don’t know where the ideas come from, but it’s been coming to me for about four or five years. Like, ‘You have to end like this’, ‘And I’m sure like I trust the songs, so if we do anything creatively beyond the tour, it’ll be something different, or it’ll be a side thing, or it’ll be a compilation of things. We didn’t finish.”
One reason for Chris’s decision to retire from making albums is that, in order to create a “great” project, “it’s a lot of people wrangling,” he added, “and I see other people sacrificing part of their lives for me.” I want to give for it.”
