The surprise came earlier this month when director Nancy Meyers said she had not considered Holiday Absolutely meant to be a Christmas movie.
Speaking with the hosts of The Hollywood Gold Podcast, she said, “I didn’t think about it that way. I really wanted to tell the story about these people. I set it at Christmas because that can be lonely. “
He added, “Everyone sees it as a Christmas movie, and when I watched it last night to prepare, I was a little shocked to see how much Christmas was in it.”
Strange that the film that started an entire movement on what the ideal man looks like and makes falling in love even more magical during the holiday season never came to the creator’s mind as a Christmas movie.
Another year, and another season of Jude Law obsession, done and dusted.
But what makes this year special is Jude Law pulling a Graham and answering all the burning questions regarding the sequel. Until we hear again, that movie will have to be watched one more time as Christmas rolls around.
