We had earlier reported that actor Yogi Babu is headlining an upcoming Disney+ Hotstar original series Chutney SambarCo-starring Vani Bhojan and directed by noted filmmaker Radhamohan, the series today dropped a unique teaser video from the streamer.
The video begins with actor Nizhalgal Ravi as the head of a family that runs Amudha Cafe, a small restaurant famous for its delicious sambar. In a surprising turn of events, the family comes across Yogi Babu’s character’s roadside eatery, Amudha Unavagam, which is famous for its secret chutney recipe. When Ravi’s character falls ill and Amudha Cafe goes through some turbulent times, the family decides to strike a unique business deal with Yogi Babu’s character: exchanging chutney and sambar recipes for mutual benefit, a move that leads to a comedy of errors
Chutney Sambar It stars R Sundarrajan, ‘Kayal’ Chandramouli, Nithin Sathya, Charlie and Kumaravel in lead roles. Myna Nandini, Deepa Shankar and Samyuktha Vishwanath are also part of the cast, while child actors Ilan, Akilan and Keshav Raj will also be seen in the series.
Music composed by Ajesh Ashok (K) Super Singer fame), the upcoming series is edited by Pon Parthiban, cinematography by Prasanna Kumar and editing by Jijendran. Chutney Sambar is produced by Vels Film International.
Notably, this is Yogi Babu’s first film as the lead in a full-length series; the actor had previously starred in a segment of Netflix’s anthology series Navarasa,
