Could not understand the arithmetic, but it doesn’t define me: Boman Irani on its position of dyslexia

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Boman Irani, who is known for his standout roles in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, ‘3 Idiots’, and ‘Khosla Ka Ghoshla’, has been outspoken about his childhood struggle with dyslexia. Considering his journey, Irani shared how he crossed the challenges, highlighting that the learning disorder does not “define” who he is today.

In a clear conversation with Annie, Boman Irani talked about the uniqueness of every person, indicating that no two people share the same DNA, which makes each person naturally different. He urged people to use their “capacity or disability” for their benefit and focus on areas in which they really excel.

“The DNA of any human being is not the same. Is right? Their structure, or perhaps their dyslexia, or some merit, or the left brain, or the right brain, or autism, or autism, or autism, light spectrum, heavy spectrum. The ability to use my body.

‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ actor shared that when he struggles with numbers and there is no memory for arithmetic, he has excelled in other areas, such as remembering film scenes since childhood. He urged people to never feel inferior due to their differences.

“I have a great memory for some things. I have no memory for numbers. Zero. Therefore, you can teach me arithmetic for hours, I will never understand it. Therefore, it is a way to do justice to you. I am not justice to justice. I am not justice to my personal ability. So, when I was 11 years old, I think I think I have no,” I am not there.

With diverse filmography under his belt, the actor opened some memorable roles of his career. One of them had his prestigious role in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Khosla Ka Ghoshla’ in 2006.

Being a Parsi from South Bombay, producers had doubts about Boman’s casting for the role of a Punjabi businessman in the film.

“Khosla’s Ghosla was a big, big thing for me as an actor. Everyone as an artist. Everyone was very suspicious to play a role, because I am a Parsi from South Bombay, and I am playing a Punjabi from Delhi. (I took it as a challenge).

Boman Irani will be seen next time in the film ‘Detective Sherdil’, which is particularly streaming on Zee5 from today. He will join Diljit Dosanj, Diana Paint, Ratna Pathak, Sumit Vyas and others in the film.
