It was the night of Grammy holders carrying on stage in Chennai on Wednesday. English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and music composer R Rahman joined their army and treated the capital of Tamil Nadu.
Both performed the mash-up of ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Urvashi’, in which the East Metronome was being played with Rahman on the Mike for a later tone. The English singer-songman shook his guitar, while Rahman gave his voice.
Ed Sheeran’s show in Chennai was opened by playback singer Jonita Gandhi, which is known for songs like ‘Glehian’, ‘What Jhumka’, ‘Dil Ka Telephone’.
Talking about her gig, Jonita said earlier, “I have been a big fan of Ed for a long time! In fact, I have also covered some of his music in the past. I fully love how versatile he is. He crosses so originally in different styles and in a way that seems so authentic, something that I really praise ”.
He further mentioned, “I was really disappointed to remember my last performance in Mumbai because I was performing elsewhere that day, but I am very excited to see her live and even That in Chennai is even more stalled to share a platform with him. Really looking forward to it”.
Last year, Ed Sheeran performed with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanj in Mumbai. At that time, Diljit took her on her Instagram to share a video of her meeting with the ‘Shape of You’ singer at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai on her Instagram, where the latter performed on Saturday.
In the video, Diljit can be seen interacting with Ed Sheeran as two vibe. He was seen chatting at the venue with each other in a 360 degree stage. While Diljit was wearing a black T-shirt, a denim jacket and a pair of denims, Ed Sheeran chose a white T-shirt to defeat a pair of summer and black shorts.
Diljit wrote in the caption, “One Love”.
