Critics’ Choice Awards 2025 postponed amid Los Angeles wildfires

The 30th annual Critics’ Choice Awards have been postponed to January 26, 2025, due to the devastating California wildfires. The event was originally scheduled for January 12, 2025.

A statement was released by the Critics’ Choice Awards at X. The rescheduled event will still take place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and will be broadcast live. E! news.

It will also be available for streaming on OTT platform Peacock the next day.

“This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community,” said a statement from Critics’ Choice Awards CEO Joey Berlin. “All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and all those affected.”

Meanwhile, Oscar nominations have been pushed back due to the ongoing wildfires, as reported Diversity,

The announcement of nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, initially scheduled for January 17, 2025, will now take place on January 19, 2025.

The voting deadline has been extended by two days to January 14, 2025. The ceremony will take place as planned on March 2, 2025.

The report also includes an email sent to members by CEO Bill Kramer outlining the date change.

He said, “We want to express our deepest condolences to those who have been affected by the devastating fires in Southern California…Many of our members and industry associates live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are “I’m thinking.”

The Palisades fire became the most destructive fire in LA history. Firefighters in California are battling massive wildfires that have already destroyed hundreds of homes, and strained firefighting resources and water supplies to their limit.
