Laughter is the perfect antidote to superhero fatigue.th This Marvel Cinematic Universe film (anyone counting?) features the ultimate dream team of mouthy businessman Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) teaming up with the X-Men’s Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), who has an indomitable skeleton and retractable claws.

When Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) refuses him entry, Deadpool takes off his mask and finds little joy or purpose as a used car salesman. He is not with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) either. At his birthday party, Deadpool is captured by the Time Variance Authority and meets Mister Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), who offers him the chance to live in the Sacred Timeline on Earth-616.

Story: Two superheroes from different worlds come together to save their universe
Unfortunately, Deadpool’s timeline is falling apart and the people he loves, including his roommate Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), will perish due to Wolverine’s death, as the timeline’s anchor, according to Paradox. Deadpool decides to save his timeline and those close to him by traveling across the multiverse to find Wolverine to take his place.

After meeting various versions of Wolverine, including a gambling version, an eyepatch and white tux, a giant X-crucified Wolverine, an old man, and the comic book Wolverine who stands at 5ft 3in tall, Deadpool brings back a Logan who is carrying the burden of losing his team. The two team up after much bickering and sparring and head into the Void where they meet the fearsome Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), Charles Xavier’s sister. Cassandra is also a telepath, but unlike her brother, she literally enters people’s minds, sticking her hands into their heads and moving their minds and memories around.
They barely escape the border with their minds and memories intact before recruiting the resistance — Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and Laura (Dafne Keen). A fun battle ensues and everything gets right in the end, including the timelines. While the cameos from Chris Evans, Wunmi Mosaku, and Chris Hemsworth are great, the action is great and Corrin is superb as the cunning and slimy Cassandra, deadpool and wolverine Driven by the terrific chemistry between Reynolds and Jackman.
There are plenty of laughs in the various incarnations of Deadpool – from Lady Deadpool (Blake Lively), Dogpool, Kidpool and Babypool to Cowboy Deadpool (must be Matthew McConaughey) and Headpool (Nathan Fillion). The unblemished Nicepool, with his cool vibe and great hair, is a lot of fun. There are plenty of hilarious lines (many of which are unaired), including Deadpool scolding Gambit about his dialogue coach, MCU boss Kevin Feige’s insistence on cocaine and all his slang words, as well as calling himself Marvel Jesus, and all the jokes about moving from 20th Century Fox to Disney (“I’m going to Disneyland!”).
deadpool and wolverine This is the perfect movie for the summer season, full of laughs and thrilling action, all laced with a light pixie dust of good, old-fashioned superhero movies. This is one of those movies that can be re-watched many times and many joys derived from it. What a fun movie it is!
