Denise Richards has been given a five-year restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phyppers. The order comes after her claims in court that she had experienced domestic violence during their marriage.
The ruling, handed down on November 7, bars Phypers from having contact with Richards. It also prevents him from discussing her in public or through the media.

The decision came after several months of filings, hearings and statements by both sides. The couple, who were together for six years, separated earlier this year. A temporary restraining order was granted against Phypers just days after Richards, 54, filed for divorce.
The conditions also prohibit Phippers from possessing or purchasing firearms. He is not allowed to contact Richards, directly or indirectly. If communications occur for legal or practical reasons, Richards is allowed to record those conversations.
The filers are also barred from releasing or releasing any images or recordings of Richards. It also includes medical related videos. The court ordered him to delete all copies stored on devices or cloud systems and to return any items still in his possession.

Richards detailed several alleged assaults in his testimony. She claimed she was hit three times and feared for her safety during various incidents in California and Chicago. She told the court that those experiences left her anxious and she was constantly worried about her personal safety.
In her statement, Richards said that Phypers’ behavior during and after the wedding made her feel “unsafe”, especially during the time she was recovering from surgery. Her lawyer described the decision as a necessary step to “protect her peace”.

Meanwhile, Phypers denied all allegations and said he never harmed or threatened her, TMZ reports. He claimed that previous testimony describing the abuse was “false” and insisted that the relationship had been misrepresented.
The restraining order will remain in force till November 7, 2030. But other legal issues between the two, including property and financial discussions, are still ongoing and will be addressed separately.
The pair first formalized their separation in July, when Phypers filed for divorce. Richards and Phypers tied the knot in 2018. Both have continued public careers throughout the controversy, although neither has made additional public statements since the verdict.
