Dhadak 2 faced sensor obstacles, but Siddhanta and Triptikti say the time of the film has come.

Mumbai: Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripipti Dimri say they were confident that their latest film “Dhadak 2” would find its way for theaters, even though its release was held for a while due to the problems of the sensor.

The upcoming film, a romance-drama that deal with the issue of casteism, was first slate to release in November 2024.

However, the film allegedly moved into obstacles with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which was recently resolved only after the producers agreed to significantly cut and modifications in the film.

Chaturvedi said that he wanted the film to come out in theaters as it is the first feature film of filmmaker Shazia Iqbal.

“It seems that this is a process. It seems that the film should come soon because we have already shot it. But it has an additional 3-4 months (in release). This is my director’s first film, so for him, I think the film should be released soon, as he has loved it very much,” Chaturvedi told PTI in an interview.

The sequel “Dhadak 2” of the 2018 “edge” of 2018 is a story about two star lovers, played by Chaturvedi and Dimri, from the background of different castes. It will now be released in the cinema hall on 1 August.

“For our producers, this is a special and separate film. The stakeholders who are senior to us were handling it (censor board issue). We were constantly tracking things. We were sure it was made out at the right time. The film was made with great love and honesty, and there would be no obstruction in releasing it.”

Dimri echoed Chaturvedi and said, “Every film has time to release, and it comes at the right time.” The actor said that the entire team treated the story and issues that deal with honesty and respect.

“This is a very big responsibility … a lot of credit goes to our director, who from day one wanted what she wanted and how she wanted to tell the story, how the characters should be, she did not want to spread more than anything or wanted to take care of anything. She just wanted to be in reality.

“Most of the time, we were not focusing on the subject, but how are you going to feel.

Chaturvedi said that the film intends to send a message to the audience, but will not come as a teaching.

“It should reach the maximum audience because it is entertaining and leaves a little note, so it is something we are watching continuously. We found that the balance …

“Something real and sensitive about it (‘Dhadak 2’). All these people have more responsibility, and they know about it very well. So they have been very calm about everything, as we were shooting for the film, even on the issues of the censor board, we never said anything.” In “Dhadak 2”, Chaturvedi played Nilesh, while “Animal” star Dimri Vidhi plays.

The film has the first cooperation between the two actors, but Chaturvedi revealed that it could be earlier – whether he won the male lead in Dimri’s 2018 breakout film “Laila Majnu”.

“Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” the actor said that he auditioned for the lead role of Qais Bhatt in Imtiaz Ali-made film, which eventually went to actor Avinash Tiwari.

“I was 22 years old, I was a little younger. He needed Majnu at the age of 25-26 years. Therefore, I auditioned. I was shortlisted, I got a special photoshoot, we had a camera, so I asked my brother to do it. I took my beard a little, I took a bus in Pune and a photoshoot in Punne.

“I still have that folder (of photo shoot) on my Windows PC. It was very intense. Then Avinash did it. I was chosen for ‘Inside Edge’ in which Avinash was going there;

“He is a national crush. When we were shooting for our film, ‘Animal’ was released, we became lucky that there was a star on growth in our film, now she is touching even more heights.

He said, “I am eager for everything I do. I have seen all his films; she has a lot. Even in this film, she is playing one of her strongest characters,” she said.

After “Dhadak 2”, Dimri will act with Shahid Kapoor in the next film “Arjun Ustara”, with Shahid Kapoor in “Dil Ka Darwaja Khola Na Darling” in the next film “Arjun Ustara”.

“This has been a great experience. Vishal sir is what I always wanted to work. I am happy that I got a chance to work with him. I learned a lot from him. I learned new things about myself, such as what I can do well,” Dimri said. Chaturvedi said that he was also excited about sharing screen space with the “talented” senior like Bachchan.

He said, “I enjoyed it a lot. I am a big fan of him. A lot of things that I thought I would understand if I worked with him, and that’s what happened. There are many techniques, I had to learn a lot,” he said.

“He is a very happy person. The film itself is a very happy and music love story, so there was a chance to have fun with him. We were able to break the snow in a good way,” said Chaturvedi.

“Dhadak 2”, including Saurabh Sachdeva and Zakir Hussain, is produced by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures.
