Blake Lively couldn’t share her happiness to voice Lady Deadpool in Shawn Levy’s friend superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine. Blake took to her Instagram handle on Saturday to share pictures of herself in a red dress from the film’s premiere earlier this week. She shared pictures from the event with her husband Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool in the franchise, Shawn and Hugh Jackman’s girlfriend Gigi Hadid. She also shared a comic book sketch of Lady Deadpool with these pictures, in which she is holding Deadpool in her arms.
“In 2010 I was on Gossip Girl and about to shoot my first superhero movie, The Green Lantern, with my kindhearted Canadian costar @vancityreynolds. He told me, our other costar, another superhero newbie @taikawaititi and all of us about @deadpoolmovie for the first time. It was a “meta” superhero. Most of us didn’t know what meta meant at the time. Except Taika, he’s always been more talented than the rest of us. We understood in theory, but how it would all come together for the audience was unclear to everyone except him. It wasn’t a real dream. The movie was never going to happen,” Blake wrote alongside the photos.
“Right before all of this in 2010, @robliefeld made the first unmasked Lady Deadpool, go to the next slide for his words. @deadpoolmovie wasn’t real. And Rob didn’t even know I was working with @vancityreynolds,” Blake said. “Sometimes the universe has such a magical sense of humor,” she added.

However, the internet didn’t take too kindly to Blake’s nostalgia and blamed her for spoiling the movie. One Instagram user commented, “Thanks for the spoiler Blake…” Another wrote, “Oops. It’s a spoiler.” “Sorry girl did you spoil the movie??”, a third commented, while a fourth said, “Blake…baby…why couldn’t you wait at least 24 hours.”
However, a section of the internet also defended her and said that the casting was an obvious choice. One user commented, “Once she wore that costume I was convinced she was Lady Deadpool. It’s no surprise.” Another wrote, “Everyone is saying it’s a spoiler, she’s credited as Lady Deadpool for DAYSSSS on iMDB. Also, if you didn’t think that costume was a hint (and a sly one).” “Dude, he didn’t spoil the movie. They don’t actually reveal who’s under Lady Deadpool’s mask,” wrote a third comment.
