Weeks after brutal surveillance footage from 2016 surfaced that captured Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in California, his former makeup artist has come forward claiming she once heard him beating up the Is It You singer during a stay at the hotel in 2010. The alleged incident allegedly predates the 2016 attack, which made headlines earlier this month when CNN published exclusively obtained footage showing the Bad Boy for Life brutally grabbing Cassie by her hoodie, repeatedly kicking her and dragging her down a hotel corridor.
Mayla Morales, who has previously worked with both Diddy and Cassie, has now revealed another alleged case of physical abuse against the Me & You singer during the former couple’s hotel stay in 2010.
Speaking to CNN’s Laura Coates on Thursday, Morales said, “I kept this secret for almost 14 years.” Detailing the alleged attack, she claimed, “All I could hear was screaming and yelling … that was all that was happening. [the hotel bedroom]I don’t know, but all I was thinking about was picking up Cassie’s stuff and starting to pack her up and get her out safely and home.”

Diddy’s former makeup artist alleges she saw Cassie “badly beaten”
Furthermore, speaking about the aftermath of the incident, Morales told CNN that she saw Ventura “badly beaten up” when she left the room where she and P. Diddy had a fight. Then further describing Cassie’s physical appearance, Morales said, “Knots on her head, black eye, busted lip.”
When asked if they ever reported the incident to the police, the former makeup artist, who is now a good friend of Cassie’s, confirmed that at the time they didn’t know what to do “because Puffy is a very powerful person” and they were “terrified” of her.
Eventually, Morales took Cassie back home and contacted her doctor friend to get her private treatment to see if she was hurt. The makeup artist said, “It was painful to see Cassie like that because she’s such a … beautiful person.”
Furthering the notion that this was the first time something like this had happened between the former couple, Morales suggested, “It didn’t feel like that… I think she might have been embarrassed by it happening.”

Addressing the recent release of the 2016 footage, Morales said, “When I saw that video I was devastated, because it felt like I actually saw what could have happened in that room and more.” Referencing the video of the 2016 attack and drawing similarities with the alleged 2010 incident, which she reportedly witnessed closely, Morales also said, “That was a hallway incident. Who knows what went on in that room while I was out there.”
The lawsuit filed by Cassie against Diddy in 2023 makes the following allegations against the rapper: sex trafficking, human trafficking, sexual harassment and assault, gender-motivated violence, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and hostile work environment.
Other lawsuits currently active against Combs include Dickerson-Neal v. Combs (drug abuse and sexual assault), Gardner v. Combs (assault and sexual assault), Jane Doe v. Combs (sex trafficking and gang rape), Lid Rod v. Combs (fraud, sexual assault and sex trafficking), O’Markeaigh v. Christian and Sean Combs (premises liability and aiding and abetting his son), McKinney v. Combs (drug abuse and sexual assault), and Lampros v. Combs (drug abuse, assault and sexual assault).
As for whether Cassie would testify against Diddy if federal investigators asked her, Morales is “hopeful” she will because she’s the one who knows everything.
