Diddy federal investigation not over yet: Fancy Miami hotel issued subpoena to hand over records; ex Daphne Joy also named

Federal authorities are doubling down on an ongoing investigation into sexual assault and trafficking allegations leveled against Sean “Diddy” Combs. In another twist, the embattled rapper and his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy — who is also 50 Cent’s baby mama — were named in a grand jury subpoena issued a few weeks ago.

On August 31, TMZ reported that federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York tried to dig up potential dirt on the hip-hop legend by removing credible evidence from a hotel in Miami, Florida. The “Bad Boy for Life” is no stranger to the American city as he already has a home there, including in Los Angeles. In March, Homeland Security agents raided the disgraced star’s homes during an ongoing investigation involving multiple allegations exposed in multiple lawsuits.

Combs’ legal representatives have repeatedly denied that he was involved in any such wrongdoing, with attorney Jonathan Davis previously stating, “No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it will not change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone.”

What do prosecutors want with this subpoena sent to a Miami hotel?

However, this latest twist in the Diddy investigation proves that authorities are leaving no stone unturned in reviewing every record related to the Bad Boy Entertainment CEO.

According to the subpoena, authorities have requested that an unspecified Miami hotel produce reservation records belonging to Diddy, his ex-girlfriend Daphne, and others associated with them.

Highlighting the period from January 1, 2008 to today, the legal order obliges establishments to hand over billing information, check-in and check-out dates, room numbers, guest preferences and other requests including room service.

Through this bold move, federal authorities hope to document Diddy’s activities and relationships. They have also sought confidential data from hotel officials, including email addresses, phone numbers and payment methods.

The list doesn’t end there. Prosecutors are also interested in the computer IP addresses and login information of the individuals named in the order, as well as their identity copies and vehicle details. In addition, surveillance footage at the hotel will also be examined.

A Brief Background of Diddy’s Controversies and Lawsuit

Diddy’s reputation plummeted after CNN revealed old hotel footage of Combs brutally beating and dragging his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura across the lobby. However, his reputational decline has been the talk of the town ever since Ventura sued him in November 2023.

Though her complaint, which accused Combs of committing acts of abuse, sexual assault, sex trafficking, human trafficking and other causes over a decade, was quickly settled, Diddy has been named in multiple lawsuits since then.

The second most sensational case involves Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ $30 million lawsuit. This legal battle has gotten even more heated in the last few days, as Combs has pushed to dismiss his old producer’s filing. Lil Rod has until September 9 to decide which way to go.

Meanwhile, a recent news that made headlines was the filing of a lawsuit by Sinaloa drug cartel member Alfredo P. Gonzalez accusing Bad Boy CEO of destroying his illegal drug business. However, this filing was eventually dismissed.
