Diljit Dosanj, Imtiaz Ali renovated for an untitled film with Sharavari and Vedang Raina

After the success of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, director Imtiaz Ali is shifting gear with a new love story against the background of India’s partition. His upcoming film, the specialty of Vedang Raina and Sharvari, withdraws the audience in the 1940s, in which the trauma of migration and historical unrest shows deeply individual relationships.

Expressing her excitement for the new journey, actress Sharvari shared that she was expressing a chance to work with the director of ‘Tamasha’, as she decided to pursue acting.

When taken to Instagram, he wrote, “An incredible surprise to see this announcement is on my birthday! Best birthday! @Diljitdosanjh @dedangraina.

Diljit Dosanjh to reunite with Imtiaz Ali

Sources suggest that the film is set in Punjab and follows a young couple, which is tested and torn from the turbulence of partition. “Set in the 1940s, the film sees the partition from the lens of two lovers and the subsequent effects. While Sharavari plays the role of a young woman lead, Imtiaz is interacting with two more major women for other major roles as the film revolves around various generations of families.”

Although there is still untitled, the upcoming film has an influential cast which includes Diljit Dosanj, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and Rising Stars Vedang Raina and Sharavari. Industry sources suggest that the shoot is scheduled to begin in August 2025, with a dramatic release plan for Baisakhi 2026.

Presenting a glimpse in the emotional tone of the film, Imtiaz Ali said in a statement, “Tumor Mere Pa Hot Ho Goya, Jab Koi Dosra Nahin Hota ‘(‘ You are with me, however, when there is no more ‘) – Momin. Momin. Momin. Momin can really lose?

Ali said, “It has a big canvas, yet it is very personal. It is the story of a boy and a girl, but also a country. We dive us in the streams of this dynamic story, we expect you to emerge with a touch cinematic experience in a theater next year.”
